Not satisfied with just hooking and holding, Toronto committed a wide variety of infractions. The Leafs truly tested referees Dan Marouelli and Mick McGeough, who responded by whistling them for nine different types of minor penalties. Among Toronto's crimes: goaltender interference, closing your hand on the puck, and the always popular too many men on the ice.
This is classic example of a typist that reads the box score instead of watching the game. The goaltender interference penalty was called on what would have been the Leafs first goal of the game. Redden trips Domi into Lalime while Corson shoots the puck. Goaltender interference is called, instead of a goal by TML along with a 2 minute powerplay for Redden's actions.
But it along with all the obstruction and hooking that the Sens get away with went uncalled, and while the Leafs were indeed undisciplined the refereeing was abismal.
[Edited: ] Ken Valyi-Hax was just fined by the NHL for $30,000.
