Rd:1 Hurricanes Lead Series 3-2!!...

Well the first "must game" is upon us...The Hurricanes defeated the Devils in overtime of game five, winning 3-2, and now lead the series 3 games to 2...It was an incredible turn around as the Devils had control of the game until the final minutes of the third period...Now there's no more games to lose for the Devils...Will the Carolina Hurricanes go for the throat or will the Devils force seventh heaven???...Game six is Saturday!!...

Dang Jason, after the Leafs disappointing loss I thought the Devs had that game wrapped up.

Since you're probably feeling as bad as I am, I'd buy ya a beer.

I'll buy both of you a beer if the Canes can win this series. I think game 6 is important for the Canes as well as the Devils. The Canes don't want to play NJ in a game 7. The Canes haven't been able to handle prosperity all season let's see if they can now.

I'll buy us all a keg if we can go ahead and call the series now. What a game that was, Weekes made a strong strong effort last night in goal. getting the nod like that over a slumping Irbe, and then that amazing stop against Madden to keep the Canes alive. And the Czech Condor, the gw goal and that amazing assist to Gelinas, what an effort.
let's hope the canes do not sit on their laurels and go for the throat Saturday.

I think there is more pressue on The Cane to close out the series then for the Devils to win another game. Look what happened last year in the Stanley Cup finals - the Devils had a chance to wrap it up and they blew it and Colorado won the next game to win the Cup.

Same thing happened in the Toronto - NJ series last year. Toronto could have won they series in 6 but blew it and NJ ended up winning in 7.

Canes better come out like bats out of hell on saturday, if they dont....They in trouble. If I wasnt working on Saturday I would have been at the next game, oh well.

Any chance the Canes are gonna start Weeks again? I think that would be my choice. They are gonna need to weather an early storm because i'm sure NJ is gonna come out with guns-a-blazing in the first period.

The Hurricanes DEFINITELY don't want to give the Devils another chance at this series...Right now an early start may really take the fire out of the Devils and get them thinking back to the lead they had until the final minutes of game five...Emotion is a huge part of the NHL and if the Canes can steal it early from the Devs with better plays and a better goalie performance, they will have destiny in their own hands...
