Here is another one I picked up:

Stars G Ed Belfour and C Joe Nieuwendyk for Flyers Fs Justin Williams, Pavel Brendl

The main players involved in this deal don't seem to balance out, but make no mistake that the Stars want to get rid of Belfour while demand is high, and Williams and Brendl would make the Stars considerably younger (or be shuffled off to Florida for Pavel Bure). The rumor of this deal floated around on the weekend and was denied by Stars coach Rick Wilson, who laughed when asked about it by a reporter. The deal purportedly would have included eight players. Also part of the rumor was that former Stars coach Ken Hitchcock would replace Flyers bench boss Bill Barber, who would be fired. If this wasn't Philadelphia we were talking about, it would seem outlandish. But anything's possible when it comes to G.M. Bob Clarke.

While I don't want to see either of them go, it wouldn't surprise me if tonight is the last night that Belfour or Nieuwendyk wear a Stars jersey. Turco is just too damn good to be a back up.

I would have liked to see the Bure deal go through, oh well.
