Quinn not interested in any Carolina goaltenders

Well, an ESPN Insider article says that Pat Quinn has expressed his non-interest in any of the three goaltenders in Carolina. No one's sure whether he's playing head games again or if he's for real. If Toronto was never part of the equation, who are they gonna be making a deal with? Maybe Montreal? Or some kind of Richter, three team deal??

Mike Penny Toronto's DOPP says Barrasso is a possibility, Philly and NJ might be interested as an insurance policy, but my crystal balls see him going to the Blues.

Yep, that's what I just wrote in a post too. Actually, that may change with the availabilty of Belfour. Maybe it'll be a Carolina, St. Louis and Dallas package.

I'm trying to figure out the goalie situation:

Toronto has GOT to be shopping
Montreal is set after bringing up the youngster
St. Louis NEEDS a goaltender, though they say they won't look
Carolina has 3 goaltenders
NY is supposedly shopping Richter
Dallas wants rid of Belfour

The more I think about it, the more likely a deal between Dallas and St. Louis seems to me. If that's the case, and Toronto has no interest in the Carolina goaltenders, what's the deal there? St. Louis has got to trade with one of these teams, it seems to me that if they trade with Dallas, some master plan of the Hurricanes is gonna be foiled!!

Even if we can't move Barrasso he served his purpose as we only have 15 games left after tonight. He signed a 1 year deal and he will not be here next year as we will go with a team of Irbe and Weekes. That being said it would be nice to get something for him but we really have nothing to lose either way.

Well that makes sense, so basically he could just be a backup plan. Smelling the situation around the league, see if you spark any interest.

Have you heard anything about Barrasso the guy since he's been there? I've always heard he's the meanest SOB around. I can't remember who it was, but one of the goalies out there said that when he used to backup Barrasso, the whole couple seasons they were together, Barrasso wouldn't say a word to him, EVER. Maybe it was Tugnutt?

Apparently Ron Francis is the one who got Tom to come here. Francis rules the clubhouse and this team doesn't have alot of egos. Both Irbe and Barrasso have handled the situation like professionals, atleast if there were any problems it was behind closed doors but I don't think Francis lets that go on. Ronnie may run this organization when he's 70 and quits playing.
