Darren Pang's take on new rules:

I'm not so sure how many of these I agree with. There are a couple though. I like the quick face of and tag up. I'm not a big fan of the elimination of the red line, or making the defensive and offensive zones bigger by shortening the goal line..Anyway, here it is....

    I agree with Numbers 2,3,4
    I dont agree with 1,6
And Number 5 Im not really sure about (elimination of the red line)

I dont agree with number 1 because I enjoy the little scrums after the whistle in front of the net. Guy comes too close to your goalie, and you gotta send a message.

They'll never do that. But HELL NO. You think guys are getting hurt now?, take away more fighting and more guys will get hurt worse. Collin Campbell isn't able to hold these guys accountable. When they're playing the game, they don't think about Campbell or a fine before they do something malicious! They need to ease up on fighting to better protect the stars of this league. I don't see it happening, but I'm sure we're the majority out there.

Hockey isn't about us anymore, it's about getting a few thousand kids that live in the desert to start nagging their parents for hockey tickets. They don't remember the game when it WAS hockey. Buttman would just assume turn this into Barney on ice if he could make an extra $5!!

I think we'll see at least 2 changes for the beginning of next season. The quick face off rule and the return of the tag up rule. This has been talked about at the General Managers meetings all week.

The tag up is the best. Although I like the idea of speeding up the game, I will miss the scrums in front of the net. They're about as close to fights as we get to see anymore.

Yea you guys dont get to watch many fights over there in Detriot. They have the fewest fighting majors in the league with 16. The Panthers are first with a rediculous 95 or 96 fights.

Yeah, don't we know it. That's a potential problem heading into the playoffs too. After LaPointe signed a A. Rod type deal in Boston, that only left the wings with McCarty. The problem is he never seems to be healthy lately and rumor has it, he's on the trade block. If we lost him, he'd definitely need to be replaced. Aside from him, Shanny's the only other fighter, and he's by no means a heavy weight.

I'd love to see the wings get some tough help. Someone like a Todd Bertuzzi, George Laroc or some other goon. Hell, let's bring back McSorley!!

Well the Rangers placed Steve McKenna on waivers the other day, so maybe the wings could look into that. He's not the best fighter in the league, but he doesnt back down from anyone.

from what I hear P.J is a fan favorite over there in Boston, dont think your gonna get him. Too bad the Rangers were too stupid too keep him when they had him!
