You know I missed that!...I unfortunately have a girlfriend who isn't the biggest fan of hockey so it was like this: we have two tv sets one on top of the other, I got to watch the small one sitting on the bottom with the sound turned down and she watches the big one with the sound turned up...So I sometimes miss some of the action...But to answer your question anyways, Stevens was just too preoccupied helping the team conquer the Garden baby!!!...*LOL*...Just kidding man, that was a sweet game though...Sweet for us anyways!!!!...*LOL*...Alright I'm done messing with ya now.But to be honest Stevens will duke it out with hits and slashes throughout the game but frankly I can't even remember the last time I watched him involved with an actual fight!!...Kinda strange for how physical he is but it just seems to be his game...And to be even more fair the guy just doesn't even seem to have the same presence on the ice as he did four or five years ago...Probably his age catching up to him but both him and Danyeko are looking much slower and losing some of their game out there...That was a better game than I thought it was going to be though...Going into the third period I really felt the Devs could make that third period comeback...But do you agree with me that the Devils/Rangers games just don't seem to have that extra intensity that they used to have...Back in the early 90's I think they had the biggest rivalry in hockey, it was like Montreal/Boston or something of that nature...The crowds were really into them and New Jersey's crowd always seemed to have about 30% Rangers fans sitting in the seats cheering for them...And forget the Garden, the fans seemed to have hatred for our team!...93-94 was the best, they met at about midway or 3/4 of the way through the season for the battle for first overall in the League and it seemed EVERYONE was anticipating that game!...I was so pumped thinking the Devs were going to win and they lost!!...*LOL*...In fact that was the year the Rangers won every friggin regular and pre-season game they had!!!
Until the playoffs where they played that wonderful seven game series in the semifinals...That same rivalry just doesn't seem to be there anymore...Then again maybe it was all Claude Lemieux's fault!...I think he had just about as much to do with it as anything I suppose...Ha!...
