Going For Gold In North America!!!...

USA versus Canada!...Canada has dealt with alot of ups and downs in this tournament but they've managed to make it to the gold medal game...After all they've been through Canada can taste it now, they won't lay down for this and that's pretty much a promise...USA on the other hand has been like a well oiled machine that just won't fail for anything and Herb Brooks is looking like a genius out there!...I think this should be a very entertaining gold medal game...Both teams know each other VERY well so there probably won't be too many secrets...It's the immovable object against the irresistable force...Who's the team in 2002???...

I'll be very disappointed if either Canada or the US come out and play two uninterested periods like the Russians did, but I really don't think that will happen. Both of these teams are hungry for the gold, and are willing to pay the price to do it.

Without even being biased (cause Marty's goaltender for Canada) I just thing the US has too much momentum...Of course at the same time there's alot of times Canadian hockey teams really get up for the emotional games like this which is why I think it's almost too close to call...But I just have to give a TINY edge to the US, guess we'll see...I know I just can't wait for 'em to get it on!...Then we can get back to the NHL rivalries...I'm afraid some of these guys in this game are going to take a couple of weeks to get off the emotional rollercoaster from playing this game...

I agree that the US has the momentum and also they'll have a pumped up home crowd cheering them on. In order for that to pay a dividend they'll need to cash in on it early, for I'd be quite surprised if Canada does not match the US energy level (like I was when the Russians failed to and cost them the game).

Ken's just pumping them up to jinx them. Doesn't every American have a canadian flag doormat?? hehe.

They won't need one, they'll use Marty Brodeur. They'll be walking all over him.

I think aside from momentum, the American's have hotter goaltending on their side. Don't get me wrong, Brodeur has played well but Richter has played better. Of course as quick as he gets hot, he can get cold. Anyway, I hope he has steady work. I think his mind was wandering maybe a little bit in the third period last night after watching the game for two periods.

On that Soviet.. I mean Russian powerplay in the third Richter looked amazing. I believe he literally stood on his head to make a few saves. The clincher for me about this US team was JR sitting just outside the crease with the puck underneath him.

The US has two of the best two-way centers in JR and Modano, and they'll be key in tomorrow's game I'm sure.

Oh my God, I almost sh!t my pants. I thought that was a goal until I saw the second replay. You know you've got a chance when your centerman's making big saves!!

I'm getting really excited thinking about the matchups. Who's Canada gonna get low against the big fella, LeClair?? Do I dare guess Pronger? I can't wait to see Cheli banging with Shanny and Stevie.

I am glad that Shanny got a point last night. To this point he's looked a little lathargic out there. I missed their earlier games in the tourney so I'm assuming he didn't play much better then. But they've got Stevie Y picking up the slack. Big game for 88 too last night. As much as I hate to see it.

Did you see that HOOLIGAN get out of the box last night and go right back after that dude (his name eludes me)? Just kidding Ken. It was a little late in the game for theatrics!!
