Nice to see an Alliston boy (where he grew up), stick with a Championship club. Since the Shannon brothers (Darrin and Darryl) have yet to dance with Hockey's Honored Goblet, there's still hope that someone from my old home town will.
Detroit, MI.General Manager Ken Holland announced today that the club has signed goaltender
Manny Legace to a four-year contract, which will keep the net-minder in a Detroit uniform
through the 2005-06 NHL season.Â*
"We're all very pleased that we could sign Manny for four more seasons", said Holland. "He
has been a very reliable and steady backup goaltender and he continues to develop with every
game he plays."
Legace, 28 has appeared in 10 games for Detroit this season with a record of 8-1-0 and a
goals-against average of 1.86. His save percentage is .937.
The 5-9, 165 lbs native of Toronto, Ontario has appeared in 53 games in his Detroit career with a record of 36-6-5. His overall NHL record is 38-15-7 in 70 games played.
