Two desperate teams trying to improve.
If Van Allen and Audette can get through the season without an injury then Montreal wins this deal. I'm not thinking because of talent here either.
The Montreal Canadiens traded left wings Martin Rucinsky and Benoit Brunet to the Dallas Stars on Wednesday for right wing Donald Audette and center Shaun Van Allen.

I can't believe that the habs parted with a French canadian player. I think that's part of their problem. The only want frogs. Er sorry, to be politically correct; gay ass french queers. Just kidding
No more ethnic slurs; I promise. (yeah right)
Anyway, that's like Tampa Bay only aquires goalies. I just don't get it.
Well, the Habs gave up an injury-prone 3rd/4th liner(Brunet), and a sniper who seems to have lost his touch(Rucinsky). They get in return, a 4th liner who's a little less injury prone(Van Allen), and a scorer coming off his best ever season(Audette). And he's a Frog to boot!
Keep in mind, Audette is signed up for the next 4 seasons, while Rucinsky is an UFA after this season.
Looks like a decent trade for the Habs in my mind.
