    This isnt fair.....

Why is it that Detroit can go out and spend a whole bunch of money, and have a great team. The Rangers spend a bunch of money and royally Suck. This isnt Fair

Nobody ever said life was fair, haha. I think the main thing when you bring in free agents is you have to bring in guys that will not disrupt the chemistry of the team. It takes more than just talent to win championships. Chemistry and a little luck play major parts in championship seasons.

It's not just spending money that counts, it's talent assesment. The Wings obviously have some very good scouts in their organization.
Look at baseball. The Orioles and Dodgers spend about as much as the Yankees, yet they don't even make the playoffs. The difference is in who they sign with that money.

Oh yeah, and Detroit has Scotty Bowman.

I think the Rangers built the wrong type of team. If they were in the west they'd fare much better. There is more skill and puck-control in the west. The east is more of a physical goon hockey type of play.

It just kills me seeing the talent they have on the ice, then thier out shot 40-15 or something like that. Its getting pathetic. I think Coaching may be the problem, and we could use some more size. It seems like our "little players" do all the dirty work, while Lindros skates around trying to look pretty. If we could get some big STAY AT HOME DEFENSEMEN I think we would be alright.

    Chemistry!

Detroit has a group of players that match up very well together and have played cohesively together for a long time. A lot of that has to do with coaching, this team rose to the occasion in defence of one of it's own (Draper nearly getting killed by Lemieux) to win their first Stanley Cup, and then won their second cup after tragedy took away one it's best defencemen.

The Rangers have a bunch of millionaires thinking 'me' and not enough guys wanting to do it for the 'team'. Perhaps Messier will turn them around, heck even Lindros can be a solid team player on the ice (it's off it that's caused him all the trouble), the season is still young, but damn it if the Wings don't look like they're gonna steam roll everybody!
