    Roy, Joseph or Brodeur?

Which of these superstars will be Canada's goalie in Salt Lake City?

Since Pat Quinn is coach you have to think Cujo has the upper-hand. Then again Patrick Roy did an excellent job in Nagano even if he was slightly out played by Hasek in the eventual shoot-out. Finally, no goalie handles the puck like Marty Brodeur and with the absence of a redline (in the Olympics), a good puck handling goalie is a tremendous asset.

I think my vote would be for Brodeur - but why do I get the sinking feeling it's gonna be Roy in there? Ever since he passed the record last year, the media has been slurpin on him bigtime.

    Chris,

    Guess who I forgot?

Everyone's favorite "Liquor Pig" Eddie Belfour!

I thought about re-vising my post to put him in there, but highly doubt the Eagle will land the coveted starting job.

Cujo all the way and not because Quinn is in charge.Roy and Marty have always played on good defensive teams(except that one year in Montreal) Cujo has had to play on weaker teams most of his career,Great Goalie on a bad team= Superstar on a good team.

Roy will probably get the job for 2 reasons...

    1) He is the defending Cup Champ.

    2) He is pretty much a legend, and CuJo & Marty, while superstar goalies... are not on the all-time plane with Roy...

Roy should be in net period. What if they put Marty between the pipes and he has to face more than 10 shots on goal in a game! He wont know what the hell to do!

It'll be Roy. Experience, MVP awards, and all the cups and not to put aside the guy is a legend. I hope it will be Cujo but my gut tells me it will be Pat Roy.
Cujo still the best in my eyes....or maybe Mike Palmateer (here's a thought - why don't we bring him back)

It will probably be Roy.....I would like to see Brodeur, but I doubt that will happen. I think Roy is more experienced and keeps his cool better in tough situations!

I think Roy will get the nod because:

He passed Sawchuck's record and played really really well in the playoffs except for 5 seconds behind the net. It was his best year all around for him I think and I believe most of his stats state this also. He pretty much - yet again- brought the Cup to his team's locker room.

Hard to choose amongst those four but even harder to make a bad choice.

I hope they let Roy start. If they don't god knows what he'll do to his wife when he gets home. I just hope Belfour makes the team too. I'd like to see Roy and Belfour go out on the town in Utah the night before the big game. What's that they say about drinking and beating women not mixing?

    Pat sitting this one out

Roy takes himself out of Olympic participation

So this opens it up to a two man race really, sorry Eddy! I can't see them picking Brodeur over Joseph, sure Marty is good with the puck, but Cujo is noticeably the better goalie.
