    Where was everyone?!?!?!

A total of 5 people showed up Saturday. Dave, Denny, one of my friends (as a goalie no less), someone I didn't know, and me.

For now on, unless I know for sure there is gonna be a good turnout, I'm not playing. It's a long drive from here.

I would have been there, except I was on a plane flying back from the Bahamas. I had a voice mail on my phone from Mario from earlier in the week when I was gone (no cell phone service in the Bahamas) asking about the times and such for Hockey so I left him a message when I got to Miami yesterday.

yeah it was NOT cool with all the people that said they were coming and didnt..

im not even talking about the last second drop outs that i knew about..

we didnt even play.. wasnt even worth the effect to get dressed to even just practice..

We lost the 40.00 deposit and owe the rink 80.00 because i called it off..

Count me out unless we have a "for sure" game

Well that sucks. By the time my ankle gets better, we might not even be playing anymore? What a ****ing drag. Just bought new skates and everything.

Man...we had such a good thing going, too. It would still be a good thing if people could just keep their word.

Sorry guys, I had a last minute job come in for a college party and I had to take it, need the Christmas money. I made many phone calls though explaning the situation and if it wasn't for Mario and myself making those calls, we'd have owed for 2 hours instead of 1. Someone at the rink agreed to let us drop one of the hours and only play (or owe) for one hour. I told a few people that if you do go, there might not be many people, so play anyway and collect $10 a person and we'll owe the rest, cause we're gonna owe the rink whether you play or not. It's unfortunate that the ice wasn't used despite having only 4 skaters, we'd have only owed $40 instead of $80. But I guess I can understand if you didn't want to play, it's not much fun with so few people.

Chris, I spoke with Mario about the $80 we owe, and we're both gonna donate $20 each so it won't be as bad. I realize that the core group of myself, Tom, Chris, and Mario are there every week (except this past one) and Jason, Rich, and Duke are there almost every time also. Everytime you bring a friend with you, it helps alot. We need to get more people there on a consistant basis so when someone or a few people can't go, it's not a big deal. Right now there's too many "on and off" people it's becoming a crap shoot as to whether there's gonna be a good showing.

I think we should create several small groups of 4 to 6 skaters. Each group can stay in touch amongst each other and those groups can post here their expected attendance.

Duke, Denny, and Dave D seem to be in one area (734) and that could be one group. Rich and Dave A seem to have their own group of friends that they bring with them each time and that could be another group. Mario, Chris, and Vinny could be a group with maybe Wilson and Rosu. Tom and myself could be one too with Nolan (the goalie), Matt, Chris P, and Jesse. Others can be assigned to their closest friends or phone calling area.

This way all the phone calls don't fall on one to two people and would promote more players wanting to be there instead of going it alone. This is just an idea but something must be done to keep these skates going. Please post any ideas that you may have and try not to complain, let's all make this work! We have too much fun to let this die!

There really wasnt enough of us to make it worth the effort. A few more guys and i would have been for it.... I expected it to be small, but not like 4 people small..

i would to have had to put up the money i believe.. money i did not have on me... And to top it off joe and denny didnt show till a few mins before 1130 and we waiting still to see if anyone was goin to show. it was aboutt 1145 when we called it in. By the time we would have gotten on the ice it would have been atleast 12.
