Sundstrom awarded two-year deal
(Aug 16) - tsn.ca - Nicklas Sundstrom was awarded a two-year deal worth $3.75 million after his arbitration hearing which was held in Toronto on Wednesday.

The defensive winger of the San Jose Sharks will earn $1.8 million this season and $1.95 million the following year.

Sundstrom was drafted eighth overall by the New York Rangers in 1993 NHL Entry Draft and debuted with the club in the 1995-96 season.

After four successful years with the Rangers, he was dealt to the Tampa Bay Lightning following the 1998-99 campaign. The Lightning in turn traded him to the Sharks before Sundstrom donned the Lightning jersey.

With the Sharks, Sundstrom has scored 31 goals and added 94 assists for 125 points in three full seasons in a defensive role.
