Well the day has come, the Devils season is over...The Hurricanes blew through the Meadowlands and the New Jersey Devils leaving a path of destruction behind...They shut out the Devils 1-0 in game six and have won the series four games to two...It was a well deserved victory for the Hurricanes and perhaps a good way to put the Devils out of their misery...I do believe the Devils are simply burnt out and have had too much hockey in their bodies...It was fun to watch them make the playoffs at all, I seriously was not even expecting that...In fact, I was ALMOST hoping that they wouldn't make it at all just for that reason, thinking they could just use the rest for next season rather go through one or more rough series only to get more worn out and not see the Stanley Cup again...Devils fans can rest with ease knowing this team is definitely good enough to be a top contender next season just the way it is...Some good moves can make the team even stronger...Hopefully they will make some smart moves this summer and not lose anyone of too much value without getting something in exchange...But it's over now and another season of Devils hockey awaits...Congratulations to the Carolina Hurricanes and best of luck to them...Congratulations to the New Jersey Devils by turning around what was looking like a dissappointing season...It's been fun but look out for the Devils next year...THEY'LL BE BACK...

I didn't get to post yesterday after the game, but The Canes finally did it. My predictioon of 6 games -2 played out. What a great effort by the Canes as they advance to the second round for only the second time in the history of the club. and how about weekes, with a shutout nonetheless, only the second time a Cane has had a shut out in the playoff history.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking forward to the 2nd round. Go canes.

I wanted to add that I was realy glad that it was Ron Francis who scored that game winning goal. After being knocked out of the series last year by the huge Stevens hit, and getting hurt against the bruins a few years ago, It was good to see Ronnie come through for the team that he is the heart and soul of.

Well I have to admit it would be kind of cool to see the Canes win the Cup for the first time...Ronnie Franchise and the rest of the team just might be in good position for the second round...If the Bruins lose out they'll be the number one team in the East!...
