Well the Devils fell just a bit short tonight as the Carolina Hurricanes beat down the Devils with two blazing goals in the first period of game one...Joe Niewendyk was aparently too busy blowing chunks to lace 'em up tonight and Sykora and Richer are still recovering from regular season injuries leaving a big whole in the Devils lineup...They were really missed tonight but hopefully at least one of them will be back for game two...Elias got the only goal for the Devils which is good but he'll need help out there...Game two is Friday...Carolina better be ready, this is a big game and I think the Devils are going to bring it hard!...We'll see...

The Canes played off their a$$ last night. Irbe was awesome in goal, i think he stopped 40 something shots. Those 2 quick goals by brindy and cole were awesome. that is the type of play the Canes have to maintain in order to win the series. Looking forward to Friday night.

I didn't catch the game, just saw some highlights.
Irbe looked like he was on fire, whereas Marty looked bad on that second goal.
Still Game 1 is a feel out game in my book, this will be a hotly contested series.

Oh yeah, no doubt, Friday night will be an all out war. Niewundyk (sp) will most likely be bacck in the Devils' lineup, so.......
The real story is the Canes' defense. those guys stopped 33 shots. If they can continue to clog up the middle in front of irbe, they should do well.
Go Canes!!!!!!!!
