Schwabie gets the backup nod!

The Fan 590 is reporting that Tom Barrasso injured his hand in the game against Ottawa and will be unable to play for the start of the playoffs. According to The Fan, Leafs backup Corey Schwab will back up Curtis Joseph

Good for the Schwabster! Although I hope Tommy gets healed up ok. It's nice that the Leafs have a little depth in goal.

As management scours the list of unsigned goalies, they come across Schwab's name and a phone call or two later, they find him on the couch in his home in Seattle. A tryout invitation is issued and faster than a Mats Sundin wrist shot, Schwab is on his way to Hogtown.

The kid did a good job, hopefully the Leafs give him a contract for next year.

Of course a contract for Cujo would be even better! :)

What's going on there in Toronto this season with Goaltenders and breaking hands - if I were Schwabb, i'd be a little superstitious.
