Not only did Flyers centre Jeremy Roenick have a hard time hiding his excitement about the thought of opening the Stanley Cup playoffs against the Senators on Wednesday, he declared they're going to try to push Ottawa around.

"We have to convince their forwards not to want to compete (with us) and I think physically, we can do that," said Roenick prior to the Flyers' regular-season finale, a 3-1 loss to the Islanders yesterday.

I wonder if Andre Roy will show up at some of the games to watch his former teammates get slapped silly?

Cechmanek was 24-13-6 with a 2.05 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage. Boucher was 18-15-4 with a 2.42 goals-against and a .904 save percentage.

As an NHL rookie last season, Cechmanek compiled a 35-16-6 record with 10 shutouts and was a Vezina Trophy finalist. But he didn't fare well in the playoffs, allowing 18 goals in six games as the Flyers were eliminated in the first round by Dominik Hasek and Buffalo.

While I'm sure he'll do his best to choke during the first round, he's got some great forwards in front of him to make up for it, considering the entire Senators team will choke.

I don't think the Devils are envious that they lost the opportunity to play Philly in round one that's for sure...If Philly can play at their top potential they're gonna put the hurtin' on some teams before it's over...

Ottawa may be hurting, but players enjoy underdog role (http://www.canoe.ca/Slam020417/nhl_ottphi1-sun.html)

"We're looking forward to the challenge," said captain Daniel Alfredsson. "We're not overconfident by any means because of what's happened in past years, but we feel good about ourselves and the way that we match up against this team.

"The big thing for us is to make sure that we just focus on winning one game at a time.

"I think in the past when we've gotten down it has hurt our confidence. This time, we just have to try to think about winning this game and then we'll start focusing on the next one. That's all we can do."

Is anyone else thinking Road-Kill?

I'm actually going to miss the Sens, for next to the VAN-DET series, this is the easiest series to call.

Take care while choking guys! :)

I actually feel sorry for the Sens. I mean I really do want them to beat Philly because I'd love to see Bobby Clarke humiliated at every possible opportunity.

Cechmanek was solid in goal, but the Sens forwards have a long history of shoot blanks once when it matters most.

Canoe article (http://www.canoe.ca/Slam020420/col_brennan-sun.html) that's definitely worth reading.

What's your style?

J.R.: "I like physical hockey. I like getting hit. It gets me in the game quicker. You're supposed to wake up in the morning sore and tired. If you don't, you've got to re-evaluate the way you play the game. I watched Colorado-Los Angeles on TV (Thursday). Those guys woke up sore the next day. I've never seen so many hits in my life."

This guy could be on my team any day of the week. Dang it, why does he play for Philly?
