Okay, I've got the article attached here. I don't know when this happened yet. I'm not sure about firing Garner, but I couldn't be happier with the firing of Randy Smith, who's done a horrible job since he started. They just signed this idiot to like a two year extention a couple months ago.

You can't blame Garner. They've given him junk to work with. I'm sure he's happy he's done here. The new vice-president, some Dombrowski dude is taking over the GM spot, and some no-namer is gonna be interim coach....

Yeah, Garner lost his job because Randy Smith gave him chicken-sh!t and expected him to turn it into chicken-salad.

Smith should have been gone a while ago. Too many bad trades, poor drafts, and poor talent-evaluation.

Dombrowski is a great front-office guy. He built the Marlins' World Series team of a few years back. He's got a good eye for talent, and how to deal with it.

Luis Pujols is only gonna be a manager until they hire Felepe Alou(former Expos manager) or Buck Showalter(former Yankees and D-Backs manager), the two aparrant frontrunners for the job.

Hey, at least they're making the Lions look better.;)

I am glad they did it now and not 50 games into the season. Garner seemed happy that they didn't leave him in as a lame duck. I didn't hear about Showalter, I keep hearing Alou is the man. It doesn't matter. ANYONE will do, this is the Tigers for crying out loud!!

ESPN was rumoring Showalter. Jim Leyland's name has been tosed around too. That one would make sense, since he was the Marlin's manager when Dombrowski was there.

It's official, the Tigers have hired Felepe Alou as their bench coach. He will join the team in Minnesota.

Shocking!! Let's see if they help him with some players. Doubt it though!

I've been telling people, it won't happen overnight. Really, we have to accept that the Tigers will suck for another season or two. There's NO quick-fix. They need to build a solid team, and that takes some time.
Even the Yankee$ didn't buy their entire team. It only seems like it.;) They drafted Derek Jeter, Bernie Williams, Jorge Posada, etc.. Then, they built around that core.

This mistake goes right back to the building of this stadium. They haven't had a pitcher here since Wells and they build a pitchers stadium. I'm sure it'll take at least that long to right the ship. I kinda wish they'd have given Garner a better chance. I do like the guy, but it did seem like he was losing the guys if he ever had them and didn't care, not that you could blame him with what they gave him to work with. It's pretty bad this early in the season to say we're playing for next year already!!
