With 37 goals in 73 games, Alfredsson is closing in on the first 40-goal year of his career and the third in the 10-year history of the Senators. He also has 30 assists and is second in team scoring, one point behind centre Radek Bonk, who has played in all 77 of the Senators' games this season.
Which is a fine season for acruing points, I'll grant that.
It likely won't be enough to earn him a trip to the podium, but Alfredsson should be on the Hart Trophy ballot.
