What the heck happened???...I've been working so much I haven't kept track of what's going on!...I can't believe all the trades made this year!!...Normally the trade deadline doesn't live up to what alot of people think it will but there was some blockbusters this year...Especially with the Devils!...I truley thought Lou would be Lou and stay away from a last minute deal like he did...Not only did he get Joe Nieuwendyk and Langenbrunner but Richer has come back as well...This totally shocks me but my opinion is that this is a GREAT deal for the Devils but the Dallas trade was NOT one sided like the Rangers' deal a couple days ago...McKay has been a HARD worker for them doing the little things that help win games and Arnot was a big guy who really helped complete the "A Line" for the smaller wingers...However this was a great way to spark the team and I am sure the Devils players are excited about this, though perhaps a little sad to see a couple good guys go...But it is a pretty equal trade I think...Nieuwendyk is a pretty good sized guy, as is Arnot, and has all the talent the "A Line" will need to hopefully get back to their old ways...The only think that makes me nervous is that I'm wondering if Nieuwendyk will be as physical as Arnot was cause the Devs can't be having those big guys out there pushing Elias and Sykora around...McKay was a physical presense but Langenbrunner is a rugged forward himself, though I don't know too much about him...Perhaps he will add a bit of "Claude Lemieux" attitude out there from what I do know of him, that'd be nice!...Wow, what a trade though!...

This trade is already paying dividends for Dallas and McKay is helped out on a few goals last night.

I don't know about that. I think you got the shorter end of that stick. Your faceoff department will improve, you did not get any tougher. I'm curious to see how Niewendyk fares in the east. He's not the most physical of centers and has a couple bum knees. Langenbrunners a gritty kid that does a lot of the small things. I'd rather have Arnott though. Wasn't it Guerin the Devils traded to get Arnott from Edmonton?? I think so.

Newcomers Pavel Bure and Tom Poti each had a goal and an assist to help the New York Rangers end a four-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over Ottawa on Thursday night. ... Newly-acquired center Adam Oates gained his NHL-leading 58th assist as Philadelphia snapped a five-game winless streak with a 2-1 victory over Anaheim. ... Jamie Langenbrunner and Joe Nieuwendyk, traded from Dallas to New Jersey on Tuesday, scored their first goals for their new team and also added assists as the Devils edged Nashville 4-3.
