Looks like Toronto was interested in Barasso after-all.

The Canes didn't get a whole lot in that deal but basically got something for nothing as Barrasso was not going to be back next year.

I was waiting for this to happen... seems logical considering all the circumstances...

I had hoped for the blockbuster, however, this is a good sign for Toronto fans. Barrasso can be capable, he is not a replacement for Cujo. This clears the way for Cujo to get re-signed. If Barrasso stays, it'll be as a backup.
I really thought they'd go for Belfour, considering the rumormill's reports of the Quinn / Cujo situation.

As long as Quinn signs Cujo, and let's Tommy look for work elsewhere, I'll be very happy with this deal.
Thanks to the Canes for letting us Leaf fans sleep a little bit easier, although Mr. Schwab was holding up quite well.

I was surprised there wasn't more interst in Tommy. With almost no contract, I thought he would make a nice insurance policy for a playoff team. The Canes had to move him and I can't believe the Blues showed no interest. To me that seemed the logical choice. It will be interesting if the Leafs and Canes meet up in the 2nd round.

Maybe St. Louis is holding out for Belfour??
