While the Blueshirts appear to be the odds-on favourite to land free agent centre Michael Peca, the Blue Jackets aren't prepared to accept it just yet.The Columbus Dispatch reports that the Columbus Blue Jackets have inquired about Peca's services for the 2007-08 season and will likely to get an answer on Monday at the earliest. Peca, 33 is no stranger to Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson, who as an assistant GM with the Edmonton Oilers when they acquired the two-time Selke Trophy winner in 2005.
