What's the deal with Francis? How much longer is he gonna be around? Is he signed for next year?

I honestly don't know what his contract terrms are. he signed as a free agent in 1998, but how long the terms are for, beats me. With the banner year he has been having, I don't think the Canes will be letting him go though, if he wants to continuew playing. But at 39, the guiy is having an incredible year.

If he's ONLY 39 and having a good year, he could be signed for a two or three year deal with no problem. The better two-way forwards in the league are better equipped to stretch their careers. He could be around for a while longer.

I believe he has 1 more year left on his contract, but the contract was front loaded so he will actually be making less next year. Which will give the Canes some room to resign O'neill & Kappenen.

There you go. Maybe they can get him extended for another year or two in the offseason. He'd probably like to finish up there. Especially if he's coming at a bargain.
