So what does everyone think about the Pens in the post-Jagr era?

With Mario, anything is possible, but I was really hoping that Hull would come to PIT to fill that RW spot until Beech is ready...

I know they brought in Stephan Richer to skate, but I've heard he is a cancer in the locker room, and I think his best years are behind him...

It sucks that we are now not going to be able to see two of the most dynamic offense players ever to play the game on the same line again, Mario and Mario Jr. The fact that they traded him to Washington is just insult to injury, IMHO.

I just hope Mario stays healthy, the NHL needs a superstar with his class as much as the Pens do.

Yeah i agree...

They need someone bad to fill his spot..

Not many guys could fill jagr's skates.. tho i think a few guys could..

I think Hull would have been great...

1) He's buddy's with 66.
2) He can score... just imagine him with 66.
3) Even though he's a bit older, he'd fill the spot perfectly until Beech is ready.

I am a HUGE Jagr fan... I don't think anyone can fill his shoes, but Hull would have lessened the blow for sure...

PS: I have tickets for the 12/21 game at the Igloo vs. Jags! ;)

I think MARIO will bring your team far this season WITHOUT JAGR.
No all your team has to do Is step up and take off. You have the SPEED and you have the players that can Be LEADERS on and off the ICE.

GOODLUCK .........

I think the Pens will do good this season, But they are not a threat at all to take the cup.

I agree that watchin Mario and Jagr play together was amazing. Hell I drove 5 hours just to watch a Pens game in the Igloo, and I dont even like them.

I disagree... Mario already said that he will rest many games this season and without Jagr teams can simply concentrate their game on stopping Mario. This team still has defensive and goaltending issues and I think that they will struggle this year.

I cant see MARIO resting all that much. He has PRIDE in the PENs , and if they start to LOSE I SEE HIM PLAYING MORE & MORE games.
He takes Pride in the PENS, and being a Owner - He will do anything for his TEAM & teammates.

I think the fate of the Pens this season is in the hands of he who wears the mask of the Manitoba Moose, Johan Hedburg. He out played the Caps Kolzig and the Flyers Checmanec (sorry I can't spell tonight) in the playoffs, if he can replicate that level of skill and intensity in the regular season this year then the Pens will be seeing some playoff action and anything can happen at that point.

If he can't, and the Pens can't find a decent goaltender, then they're in for a long season. Mario is a hockey god but he can't play more than one position at a time. ;

I think that Mario and Hedburg will be the deciding factor in all the games this year, and along with Kasperitis(?) I think they stand a good chance of playing extremely well this year!!

Mario has said he will play all the Pens home games... The only games he will miss will be either the front or back side of back-to-back games... of course, this is all assuming no back problems or other injuries...

Poetic justice for this year... Chris Beech has more points than Jaromir Jagr... :p :p :p
