The Blue Jackets assigned defenseman Derrick Walser and forward Joakim Lindstrom to their American Hockey League affiliate in Syracuse, N.Y. Walser, scoreless in two games with Columbus, has three goals and 10 assists in 23 games with Syracuse and the Albany (N.Y.) River Rats. He spent parts of three seasons with the Blue Jackets from 2001 and has six goals and 21 assists in 84 career NHL games. Lindstrom has one goal in five games with the Blue Jackets, scoring his first NHL goal at Minnesota on Dec. 29. Columbus' second pick and the 41st overall in the 2002 draft, he played in three games with the Blue Jackets last season.
