I figured I'd start this so when people get information about how many people watched on tv they could post. I'm sure this game is gonna break some records. This game is as big in Canada as the superbowl is in the states. I'm curious to see how many Americans tune in!! GO USA!!

Don't give them any ideas. They'd do about anything for some juice to crank up their ac's.

I hear they are going crazy in canada right now. The streets of Toronto are Jammed packed, and the GM place in Vancouver is packed.

Im happy for them, although I would have been happier if the USA won.

Hey at least the US got the satisfaction of beating the crap out of the whiny Russians! :)

BTW did the Soviets get their medals earlier or were they not man enough to show up for the ceremony?

That's a good question, I did hear during the awarding that the Russians had already received their medals but they didn't say when. They should have given them right after their game or dragged them onto the ice after the gold medal game tonight.

Chirs, I have been to every state in the US except Alaska and maine, and I would say Texas, NC, SC, Florida, Cali, and Mich to an extent have pretty hott women.

I would actually say Texas by far, but have you ever been to Toronto

;)

Don't get me wrong; back in my Grand Bend days, I used to meet some hotties from the Toronto vicinity (London, Kitchner) but when you look at population, we've got to have you beat. Hell a small portion of your chicks are a bunch of snow shoe wearing nanooks!!

11.5 million T.V sets in Canada had the game on at one point. That shatters all kinds of canadian records.

Dont know about the U.S though.

How did an Olympic thread about TV ratings turn into a discussion of 'who's got the hottest hotties?'

<Cartman> I love you guys! </Cartman>

The telecast of Canada's 5-2 victory against the United States for the gold medal Sunday afternoon drew a 10.7 rating, the highest for any hockey game -- NHL or Olympics -- since the 1980 Olympics.

From this CNN article. (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/olympics/2002/news/2002/02/25/nbc_ratings_ap/)

U.S.-Canada final draws highest ratings since '80 (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/olympics/2002/ice_hockey/news/2002/02/25/hockey_ratings_ap/)

Looks good!

Question:

How exactly do they know how many T.V's were tuned into a certain station at a certain time?

ken_valyi

I could tell you... but then I'd have to kill you! ;)

The Neilsen company cons mindless trolls, that seem to like to watch basketball and have no taste whatsoever.. but I digress, into letting them place monitoring equipment on the TVs to know what they are watching 24/7.

They then use this data to keep shows like America's 'kick to the groin' Home Videos, and TRL on the air. Please somebody kill Carson Daily... I'll be your alibi! :)

I've heard of the same thing as far as the monitoring equipment but I have NEVER heard of anyone actually having this in their home.

Oh well, come to thing of it I really don't care so just ignore my post guys...
