Canada's forwards are really outskating the American forwards and are beating them to the puck. It seems to me that the canadians are hungrier. Richter is just playing a solid game, some plays have gone his way, and Lemieux missing that open net, GEEZ :mad:

Lemeiux's miss was unbelievable!! I agree, the Canadians look more hungry. I think the USA can still take advantage of the 4 man rush that Canada is using. How about the 5 on 3 penalty kill. The US team already has lots of moments to reflect on if they're to win. Man, a hell of a game though, eh??

The US will get more scoring chances in the 3rd, as canada will play a defensive role halfway into the period

I think the USA would have won this game if they would have tied it up ay 15:15 when Brodeur stopped Hull on a one timer.

Because I am more interested in the NHL than the olympics and if they played in the summer I wouldn't care but it bothers me to watch the players put so much into the olympics and then spend half the season coasting rather than playing their hearts out. That's what they're getting paid for and it should come first. And also it's like Case Sensitive said, the pre-qualifing teams got screwed because their players weren't allowed to help their teams get to the tourney. Just too many politics involved. If it was as innocent as intended where it's all about the atheletes it wouldn't bother me but let's face it, the athletes are about the last thing the olympic money making machine cares about.

Belarus having to play 9 games in 17 days is ridiculous!

If they do do it again, pre-qualifying should happen in the summer or at sometime before the games.

That's a good suggestion. Also, is there a rule about the host country getting a pass in the qualifiers? The reason I'm asking is since the olympics are in Italy next go round, maybe a team Italia jersey would be available for purchase. God they'd get smacked!!
