His heart is willing. His thumb? Not so much. Ryan Smyth has a history of coming back from injuries earlier than anyone expected, but the broken right thumb that's kept him out of the Edmonton Oilers' line-up for 10 games will probably keep him out for at least one more when the Los Angeles Kings come calling tonight.
