Mathieu Dandenault and Aaron Downey scored first-period goals to power the Montreal Canadiens past the Washington Capitals 4-1 on Wednesday night.Saku Koivu and Sheldon Souray also scored and Guillaume Latendresse had two assists for Montreal.
