Detroit, MI.General Manager Ken Holland announced today that the club has signed goaltender
Manny Legace to a four-year contract, which will keep the net-minder in a Detroit uniform
through the 2005-06 NHL season.Â*
"We're all very pleased that we could sign Manny for four more seasons", said Holland. "He
has been a very reliable and steady backup goaltender and he continues to develop with every
game he plays."
Legace, 28 has appeared in 10 games for Detroit this season with a record of 8-1-0 and a
goals-against average of 1.86. His save percentage is .937.
The 5-9, 165 lbs native of Toronto, Ontario has appeared in 53 games in his Detroit career with a record of 36-6-5. His overall NHL record is 38-15-7 in 70 games played.
