Rangers beat Flyers 4 - 2 (http://www.canoe.ca/SlamResults011114/nhl_nyr_phi-ap.html)
The same can't be said of Clarke, Lindros' prime foil during the tumultuous final years in Philadelphia.
Before the game, he dredged up some of the past, saying, "We put up with it for eight years, and what you know is not very good and what you don't know is way worse. There is way more of it. I hope it goes to bed but we'll fight back."
When Lindros was told that Clarke popped off again, he got up from the podium and said, "I don't have time for that."
He instead chose to emphasize his gratitude for his veteran teammates, many of whom have played against former teams themselves, such as captain Mark Messier and Fleury.
"It's nice to know the locker room is loaded with guys who know how special it is to you," Lindros said.
Sorry to bring such an unpleasant subject, but this is a rivalry that Bobby "the eternal goon" Clarke refuses to let die.
I only hope it effects his team's performance and Stanley Cup chances! ;)

I totally agree! Im just glad that Lindros was mature about the situation, and didnt get sucked into another war of words. Lindros is the man right now In NY, and I guess thats tough for Bobby to handle. Rangers are sitting atop in first place right now, thats probably hard for him to handle too. i was reading an article earlier where Flyer fans were also bashing this jerkoff.

Clarke is just an idiot, but really think about how much Lindros has brought on himself.
Starting from hios draft day where he refused to play for the Nordiques... well, guess what... they went on to win 2 Cups in that time... what has Mr. Lindros won?
Then the whole thing with Philly and only saying he'll be traded to certain teams... C'Mon! I actually am on Clarke's side about this... and I hate Clarke.
Look at Jagr... everyone was on his case, but at least he didn't say "I'll only play here or there..."

I totally agree with you. refusing to play for the Nordiques was a D*ck move. Then when he said he would only be traded to certain teams...that was also a d*ck move. But he's a Ranger now, so I can look past that stuff, and root for him.

I've never been a Lindros fan and when rumors were circulating this last summer that he wanted to come to Detroit, I started to get upset.
Eric has too much baggage - and with the whole feud between him and Clark, it's even more baggage that seems to be following him around.

Can't we just banish both of the morons from the league?
How did Clark manage to keep his job this long after that debocle?????
Clark needs to be fired; the cuncussion kid will be out of hockey soon enough, I'm sure of it. I love the way the entire league tries to hurt him when he's on the ice. That's not coincidental, this guy is bad news.

Yes your right, he is bad news..............For the opposing team! The mans got his touch back, and is one of the Elite in the game. In fact Mike Keenan called him the best player in the NHL right now.
And if you say that everyone is trying to injure him, why hasnt he been injured?

I must be waisted; are you seriously quoting Mike Keenen? That guy's even worse for a locker room than Lindros. That's okay, I'm sure he'll make the difference and get them the cup. hahahaha

Cup? Not likely. Playoffs Likely, and for the Rangers thats a big step. If Lindros came to the wings this season, you would like him too!

You wouldnt like him even if he was scoring a bunch of goals for your team????
I hated him just as much as anyone when he was a flyer, but I mean he has turned the Rangers around so its very easy to start liking him.

Okay, as a fan I'll give you that; I hated the idea of Hull coming to the wings but man, that couldn't have worked out better. So as a fan, anyone that helps your team, you tend to overlook their bagage. That said, it's a slam on Hull to even compare the two. And hell who knows, maybe I wouldn't hate Eric so much if his idiot daddy wasn't his agent.
I disagree with you about the playoffs being a big step for the rangers, their payroll has been equal to or exceeding the wings for at least the last three seasons. When you spend that kind of money; that's a win now mentallity. You have to believe their brass wants more than a playoff appearance.
I've said this before but I think they messed up and built a western conference team in the east. If the rangers were in the west, they would have fared much better the last few years. Lindros is the type of guy they need to compete in the east. (As much as I hate to see him anywhere but at home watching hockey). They need to "goon it up" to compete in the east. A finese team can't hang with all the goons in the east.
That's my take anyway.
