I am shocked to see that there is nothing going on in the Boston area. Are there no more die hard boston fans??? Or have they all gone the way of the dinosaur?

I'm sure if Denis Leary were online here, he'd be very vocal ;)

I haven't seen any Boston fans around this forum. But I don't think that should be an indictment of their fanbase.

OTOH In Boston, hockey is kind of the red-headed stepchild of pro sports.

I think Boston has been suffering a lot of bad luck of late. They looked like they were on the cusp of a comeback. If they make it to the finals, there will be a lot of ppl jumping on the bandwagon to buy their merchandise etc. Leaf fans never seem to stop whining, Boston fans are true! They just need a REALLY good reason to dust off their old Bruin uni's and show the hockey world just how many they are!!!

I think I'm the only B's fan here :( I know of a good 15 more I can invite over if you want, but things might get out of hand ;)

You're right about hockey being this city's red-headed stepchild. As soon as the Pats won the Superbowl, that was all the media talked about it for 3 weeks straight on the news, then skipped straight to the Red Sox. The news report lately has been literally 20 minutes of Red Sox reports from Fort Myers, then "oh,and the Bruins won today in overtime 3-2" The Sox haven't even played a preseason game yet either. They talk about them like they're the greatest thing since sliced bread. Ugh.

Of course, good seats to a Bruins game will cost you $95 each, and beer is $5.25 a piece for a cup of Bud Light (probably equal to a can and a half, if that), so going to a game isn't cheap like it was back at the old Garden :( Then they wonder where all the blue collared drunkards who packed the house 10 years ago went :( That's why there should be a salary cap, all the excess cost gets passed along to the fans

I find that there aren't many Bruins fans online in general. Seems that most of us think we have something better to do with our time. Obviously not me!

Just don't go to the message board on the Boston Bruins website. That place is like a kidnergarden classroom  There are other places to go though. HFBoards.com has a pretty busy forum(along with a busy forum for each of the other 29 teams too), I read them now and then, but I've never registered there.
