Dudes!
Just spoke with Phil (I told him to pop in here) and rather than do a pay dyno day, they want to do a full appreciation day and will raffle off dynos - as well as other cool stuff plus chips, pop, hot dogs, etc.
Start around 11AM til whenever?
I'm going to make up a flyer and advertise this heavily if it's ok with you guys.

That sounds like a cool idea. Do they need help getting things together for the event? Are they still thinking Oct 18th?

Hi Guys..and you guys thought "here" was a secret..hehe
Anyways, My 02 on the whole shindig is quite simple..
Membership has it's privileges..I want to help drive up the member #'s and show current members that in fact there are benefits for their $25 smackers.I'm not sure the "customer appreciation" is appropriate..its a "Club" event..sponsored of course :)
The "shindig" is open to anyone..but all raffled items will be paid members only!
Of course, there will be an on site regristration..I'm thinking Donna can help with that as well as verifiy paid members.
Basic's
Hotdogs, burgers, chips pop etc..we will provide these items
Free dyno pulls all day done on a raffle basis..example, call 3 #'s make some pulls and so on.. (Note Winner may defer his pulls to a non paid member)
Raffle other items during the day Ie. Professional sports tickets (Wings,Lions,Pistons),Harlan Eng. products,Free dyno tune session, and anything else I can come up with..If any of you shooters have a vender or 2 that owe ya a favor, maybe you can hit them up :p. I'm calling in some favors myself.
Maybe encorporate a carshow prize of some sort..
I was also thinking of shoe polishing the nicks of members on their cars so people whould know who's was who..
Thats it in a nutshell..its real close for timing but I think we can pull it off..I'm just hoping for a good turnout..

Sounds Good Phil - I'll post it as Members Appreciation Day.
This is going to be some real nice give-aways so I suggest that we take advantage of it. (All members get one ticket that is used for the dyno pulls. We then sell other tickets for $1 each and those will be drawn from for sponsor prizes and such. It will also count as a 50-50 ticket.) This worked really well at Livernois and the club made about $60 -was donated in that case.
As far as raffle prizes, I've got a brand new OBD-II hand-held scan tool and a flip down video unit for an SUV that we can raffle.

Sparky,
The $1 raffleing of prizes is cool...But..
Imagine a good bounty of stuff raffled to paid attending members..This is something that a few people won't pass on..
If we enticed only 4 people to sign up with a bunch of stuff we would be at $100 :) and have a new member..
Maybe we can work both ends...
Sounds Good Phil - I'll post it as Members Appreciation Day.

Make sure you put a limit on the raflle tickets this time. For those of you that weren't at Livernois, when TA Jack found out they were raffling off a nitrous kit he bought up over half of the total tickets (and he won the kit, a hat, a tshirt, and a speed/style/sound subscription). Maybe have a five ticket limit this time?

The Dyno Raffle will be one ticket per person..I think we will a few toss items in other items into the pile. I think I have some Harlan shift lights and Wings tickets commited allready..trying to work on some Lions and Pistons :)
I'm thinking if you get picked for something in the "Member" drawing that ticket will be dead..
As for the 50/50 raffle, that will be open to all people attending and based on ticket purchases..hard to limit that one :)

Sounds like this should be a big turnout event. I figure get the camera down there and do a bit better shooting then I did at Livernois. Should be some good source footage for a club video or two. :D
How are you for grills Phil??? Need setup help on Friday or Saturday??

I'd say APE was maybe 40 cars and Livernois was about 15??
We should be able to pull simliar to APE with some promotion - we want to make it worth your while.

I think 30 is a good starting number. Worst case we can make a run for more supplies if we need too.
After the pics that Harlan posted on LS1Tech, we could get him to trailer the car down for a viewing if he's not going to be wrenching that day. :D

It's been a while since the last time I was standing out by the F-16s and F-15s on the flight line. I'm looking forward to the turbine howling. Notice... that's howling twins and nolonger whistling twins. :D

Sparky,
No problemo, what ever you need...
Next question..
If a person say..wins a dyno pull..does his/her ticket go back in to see if he can win tickets or is he/she out?
Or..can they forgoe the pulls..sorta "Pass" and put the ticket back in..
Phil

Here's what I was thinking. Once a ticket is turned in, it's used. If someone who gets pulled for a dyno and they don't need it or would rather have a chance at a prize, they can trade it with another member's ticket. The other guy gets the dyno and the winner gets another shot!
What do you think?
