Tom:
Any idea where we stand and what we'll need to do going forward? If it's looking like we'll need to start from scratch, we should start thinking about how to go about it.

How's the legal eagles coming! :D

I would definitely say we have to go ahead with a brand new site. As soon as it's ready, we can direct the DNS to the new one.

I've asked Brian Uptain (Zarken) to join us here. He says he should be able to have the basic site up by the end of the weekend.
We'll simply have to let everyone know that they will have to sign up fresh - but I'll ask Donna to pull the old records regarding posts, etc and we can update each record over the next couple of weeks.
Also, rather than having everyone who joins get instant access - what if we do a verification where we have to "sign-off" and then send passwords? (Donna could do it) We wouldn't turn anyone down but it might cut down on some of the "casual" trolls.
Thoughts?

I don't have a problem with verifying the access requests. It will keep the casual PC users honest. Just have to watch for the goofs that run a bunch of email accounts for... other reasons. :D

Just to let everyone know. I am working with an outside comapny that will be doing the software setup, Layout, and function. Once he has completed the Software side. A few minor things will change, but for the better. It will incorporate a database system for Financials. And also a tracking list for the images. And Videos. Similar to what we have now, but you will be able to upload thru the web type setup. He is a computer programmer in backgrounds of 11 languages. So I am confident he can hook us tight. And with out issues. I am also asking him, as a side note. to setup each paid member with a 1 or 2 page web site, that they can put together. For there prfile. This will be like a members section and allow for greater flexibility for peoples updates to there cars. Just thought I would let you know. I will post again sunday with an update.

Sounds great!
I was wondering if it would be possible to have a poll function that only us elected officers can use. I don't think everyone should be able to put a poll to ask what to do about their car or whatever. I would like to be able to poll everyone to see what charity they would like to work with on the occassions that we do collect things for it. Hope that made sense.

The answer to the poll thing is yes. It can be a mod only thing. Or it can be setup in request mode. Meaining they apply for a pole and a mod has to approve it before it's listed.
