Man, this could be a sticky situation for Detroit. We've got Cujo signed for 2 more years and he has a no trade clause. The fans in Detroit would want Hasek playing here in Detroit again - but he hasn't played in a year and a half. I'm sure Detroit could get a lot with a trade - but most likely he'd go to a contender then (Colorado).
What should be done with Hasek if he wants to un-retire.

That really puts his team in a tough position.
Honestly, I think they'd be foolish to go with Hasek... Age and rust and all...

Well in my opinion, I would love to see Hasek in a Detroit jersey again. I prefer him over cujo, but again that is just my opinion. :)

I would like to see him in a Canes jersey -- especially if we have the same weak goal tending by weekes we did last season, at least after the concussion he received in the Detroit game.

One of the sports-radio guys here in Detroit(a pretty well connected guy with the Wings), is saying that the deal is already done. Hasek will be back with the Wings, and they're already contacting teams about trading Cujo.

That was the word going around yesterday, however the Detroit News is reporting it's not a done deal.

How long is CuJo's contract and how much $?
With the looming salary cap type thing, teams have only 1-more year of crazy spending.
Perhaps this is as much a future salary purge as anyhting.
The thing is, though, if his contact is backloaded, noone is gonna take it on.

Cujo is signed for 2 more years at 8 million per Season with a 3rd year as a Club option. He also has a no-trade clause in his contract. The word is the Rangers and Philly are very interested in him.

Honestly, I don't see there being a salary-cap type deal coming. Certainly not a hard cap like the NFL has, and probably not even a "soft" cap like the NBA. My guess is that there will be a luxury-tax like in baseball, and the teams that want to spend big will still do so, they will just have to pay $X for their salary that's above the cutoff.
Besides... parity sucks! Look at what parity did to the NFL. We have the friggin Tampa Bay Buccaneers as Superbowl champs!
Some teams should just know their role and shut their mouth!:p
