I can make it but I'm not putting my money up for a deposit anymore. I can't blame Chris if he don't either. Then there's still the issue of the $80 we owe for the last time. I'm not going to see Chris take a hit cause the ice was in his name so Mario and myself are putting up $40 of it, but I didn't see anyone else say anything about it and both of us are basically unemployed. I like playing but I'm tired of not enough people showing and we all lose money when that happens. We were close to being almost $200 ahead, but in the last 3 skates, it has sunk to minus $80, then we have to read all the complaints from people who just want to pay their money to play, but not take any responsibilility such as collecting the money or have their deposit hanging in the balance, hoping enough people show to get their money back. I've been there, it's not easy. I know Chris and Mario have been there too. We need some ideas on what to do. Paying in advance seems to be the only option. It's Christmas season and I don't see many people showing cause lots of them are saving money to go shopping, and it's gonna be difficult to get people to the rink. We should all just go to a outdoor ice rink like Metro Beach where all it costs is park admission but I don't think they've finished it yet.

im a little out of the way to swing by and reserve the ice...
i will not put any of my money up since i dont have enough extra in case something happens.. basicilly i cant afford to cover anything. I spent what extra cash i had buying all the stuff i needed to play.
I could prolly scrape some cash together and put in on the 80.. no way am i paying 20 when i wasted almost half of that in gas for a waste of a trip last time..
I was there and ready to play last time.. no way am i taking a hit for someone else's actions

Bingo. I've been doing it too long now anyways. First I started getting screwed because people were not paying AT hockey - we got that all remedied. And now this - quite honestly i'm sick of it. Why can't I be the guy that just shows up and pays my money to play now??

We had a few times during this past year when only four of us showed up - I think it was me, Jason, Tom and Mario. We still played for 1 hour and ended up paying $30 a piece. Sure there is only 4 people, but we got to skate! We were planning on paying $20 a piece anyways to skate - we just had to cough up another 10 a piece. I'd rather pay $30 and actually skate than $120 and NOT even step on the ice. Once the ice is rented - that's it! The money is due - regardless if you skate or not.
So who's getting the ice ;)

I will be out for another month or so, my ankle is starting to get better, but very slowly.
I wasn't even suppored to be there last time, but Frez knows I will chip in $20 to cover other people's ignorance.

I just got back from Civic Arena, talked to Gina about last week and she said that since Chris has been renting the ice for over 2 and a half years, she ate the $80 and kept the deposit so we don't owe anything for last week! She said she would like to keep him as a customer and would like us to keep renting the ice.
The ice is available for tomorrow night at midnight if someone puts up a $40 deposit, I can't make it cause I just found out I have to work. I can't wait to ditch this job for another one, hopefully within the next week I will if I'm lucky.
