I forgot to mention that the canes will be using netting at the ends of the rink this year. it does not look like it will mess with the visibility of the game. I looked through it when iwent to the practice on monday. I am willing to bet we will see it in many arenas this year, i don't think it is mandated yet, but highly suggested by the nhl

I believe all teams in the NHL will be using netting if I am correct...

they may very well be, but it was a shock to see it hanging

How was it anyway? Was it hard to see through.... any significant obstruction of view?

Was it just at the ends of the rink?

The netting was hanging just at the ends of the rink. There did not appear to be any obstruction of view at all, but i wass looking through it from the side of the ice into the stands. I did not have a chance to look at it from the stans to the ice, but i don't think there should be any difference, except maybe since the netting is black and you would be looing at a white surface.......

The Canes also have a red netting, but their media guy said he didn't think they would use it

Red?

I heard most teams were looking at black, white, and clear.... seemed like the consenus was that black offered the least obstruction of view.

Clear netting would be cool

I thought so too, but a lot of people said it was like looking through coke bottle glasses at the ice... everything looked distorted or something...
