"There will be no liberties taken against Eric, and I have no trouble saying that out loud...We have the players here who will look after that; not only that no liberties are taken against Eric, but any one of our players."
– Rangers coach Ron Low in the N.Y. Post on Eric Lindros
I wanna see Scott Stevens run at him, and then I wanna see Sandy McCarthy make Stevens look stupid:)

What good are those tough guys going to do after Lindros has been bombed? What's done is done, and no one is going to care about getting whacked when they know they have just put Lindros out. The added muscle is not going to prevent anyone from taking shots at him.

Would you take a cheap shot at him if you knew that you were going to get jumped for doing so? I would take one look at Sandy, and then just leave the man alone.

Once Lindros is down and out, the opposition has already done more damage to our team than we can do to theirs. Once he's down, he's done, and that's why they're not going to care what we do. Retaliation is not going to bring him back.
Ever hear the term "take one for the team?" That's practically part of a hockey player's job description. Any one of those guys would gladly get the snot beaten out of them for the chance to put Lindros on the shelf.
Once he's down, there's nothing we can do about it.

You are making it seem a lot easier than it really is to knock Lindros out. Its gonna take a real hard hit, and even at that it might not be enough.

You're making it seem a lot harder than it really is. I hope you're right and he lasts the whole season, but I don't see it happening. I'll give him 30 games.

If this is our only worry this whole season then it looks to be a GREAT one. I dont any PLAYERS are going to run at him. They will hit him and they will make him PAY. But I dont see any head huntting LIKE SNOWJOB did.
If he keeps his head up and dumps the puck we are in for a GREAT SEASON.
As far as our guys standing up for him - They dont have to do that. What they have to do is to stop it before it all starts. Make it known right from the start of the game.
Low should send out our BIG guys after every LINDROS line. And get it out there - That if you run at ANY ( ANY ) RANGER you will pay. And pay DEARLY...............
