Talking with people a lot lately about getting back into hockey, everyone seems to be in agreement. At the Dreamcruise I talked to Duke and Denny and they are ready.
So, let's put a plan in motion. Should we hit the ice this weekend, Saturday Aug 24th? We can either rent the ice for an hour or hit the open skate. Tom, I know you are dying to get back to see your woman at Tropicanna :p
Starting in September, we should try and do an every other weekend - or even get the ice for at least 1 weekend during the month. Then starting in mid October, lets get this kickin back to full time again - Every weekend guys :)
What do you think?

I wish I lived up by you guys for the hockey stuff.... I am NOT a good skater by any stretch... I can barely skate backwards :o
But I want to play hockey sooooooooooooo bad, but there is just no way to get it going down here :(
I am sooooo jealous! :mad: :(
The best I ever get to do is some light pond hockey over a friends... and I havent even done that for a few years.

I'm down for whatever. We'll need to get back in touch with guys like Wilson and Rosu. I'd play on the 24th. I'll run it past Vince and see if he can get a couple of bodies. Looking forward to it.

Hey Xed, Canfield is only about a 5 or 6 hour drive from Detroit, come on up!! I can hardly skate backwards myself! Hint: Don't try skating backwards when Mario is coming toward you!
Chris, that's a good idea, one hour would be cool until we know everyone schedule, or an open skate. I'm dying to get my old ass on the ice again!
Tom, your woman at the Trop's been asking about you! I hear she's been waitressing some tables herself. Cha cha cha!
Mario, if you got anyone's phone numbers, I'll help you call them. I can't find my book with the numbers, but I'm sure everyone knows some of them. I got some new jerseys too, no more plain whites for me, now you can take my number down while you're lying on the ice! (It's not to early for trash talk is it?) Hehee!
Where's all the other dudes that post here at? Blackplague, Duke, JDebler, joesmith69, mackarelli, phantomTA, I know some of you have posted here in the past, but keep up the contact here so we know you can make it.

I say we do it for an hour. That way it won't kill us if only 5 or 6 guys show up.
Plus, I'm sure some of you have lost a little wind during the off time. I could go a solid 2 hours, but I dunno about all of you.:p
As I said before, I'm down for it anytime.:)

The worst thing ever to hit the ice is gonna be back! No, I am not talking about the smell of Mario's gloves, I am talking about me! "Mr. Can't Skate, Can't shoot, Can't get through a game without getting hurt" :)
I am more than up for an hour as I have a lot of rust to beat off my skates in more ways that one. :) More than an hour would kill me.
One thing, I might have to take a weekend off soon to take my car to Florida to be sold. :( So, all I can say is if I can be there, I will.

Well, I count seven, assuming Denny and Joe make an appearance.
Prolly count a couple more tentative if Vinny or any of his frinds wanna come out and play.
That sounds like enough to pay for an hour of cheep ice.:cool:
One hour, two hours, doesn't matter to me, I'll skate. Are we gonna just gonna skate or are we gonna put on the equipment and shoot some pucks? I'd rather suit up and get used to the equipment at the same time, plus I get bored just skating around. I'll be there whenever it is, I think Denny said he's up for it and I'm sure I can talk Deel into playing.
We definatly need to make a habit of playing at least every other weekend until October, especially since I've put on 20 lbs since we last played :eek:
And I have lots of rust on the blades, and I probably should open up my equipment bad and get things, um, un stinky, I mean the bag's sat in my truck since the last game I played :D

Excellent, sounds like a plan is coming together :) Anybody wanna go St. Clair Shores and see what is available for this Saturday night? If not, I can do it.
My bag of hockey stuff has been sitting...and sitting...and errr, umm...festering something aweful. I haven't washed my stuff since the last time we played :D
I'm pumped :)

Doesn' work that way for me. It just means bigger cracks on the ice when I wipe out for no reason.

That's what I LOVE about hockey...I suck at it but I still enjoy it!

Yes, please everyone wash your stuff!! The comment about the gloves almost made me choke! Yea, one hour I think would be cool to start with. Two hours might make me puke on the bench!
This weekend is a good time to start for me. I might be able to brind a friend. Once we get going we should make sure everyone has access to this site for updates, that beats all the phone calls, or call only the ones that can't get to the site. Anyway, I'm pumped to get out there again, cause of all the fun it's been the last few years. :D

I pulled the bag out of the truck today and opened it up. Very sic. Threw whatever was washable in the washer and everything else is in front of the ionizer (works great at making things smell not bad)
I guess Friday I'll get the skates sharpned back up.
BTW I'm not fat

I just got off the phone with the St. Clair Shores ice arena. The latest slot they have open for this coming Saturday night, August 24th is 8:30pm. This would be $160 for an hour. They can't sell any later ice slots because they first must sell out the earlier time slots - makes sense.
So what do you guys think? Should we get the 8:30pm time slot for 1 hour at $160? We would need 8 guys at $20 a piece to cover.

Count me in. Who do I send the money to? Or are we collecting at the door? Everyone should try to get there 30 minutes early so there won't be any last minute confusion of who's playing on what team. Anyone bringing a video camera? The tape from last year was funny!

Yeah, I'm in. I'm gonna call Vince and get a confirmation.... I'll advise. BTW, Clark, I don't have my book either but I can get in touch with Wilson and Rosu. I don't have the numbers for Doug Seigh and Matt. Those guys are Nicks buddies. Is he gonna play this year or not?? Anyone talk to him, we should post up on camaroz28.com as well.
And one more thing, I'm not going to wash my super smelly equipment cause I'm sick of sewing up my shoulder pads after they come out of the washer/ dryer. It looks as though your gonna have to pay if you want to play. I'll take my own dressing room!!! I'm tired of smelling Debler's potpourri deodorant anyway!!!
