View Full Version : Where have all the Ranger fans gone?

I had a feeling it would be a little quiet after last nights game. What happened Ranger fans? I know..it's just the preseason and it means nothing, but it was nice to have the loud mouth Ranger fans at the arena last night silenced. Your boy Lindros didn't look all that impressive to me and Theo didn't look any better. I wouldn't go ahead and put all my hopes in those two this year.

Im right here chief. You seem to generate way to many opinions from watchin 1 pre-season game. I guess all I can say is- wait till the season starts.

Peace

okay, I'll wait till the season starts, but I've been hearing that since the 94-95 season. What is the excuse going to be in January? We were focusing on the Olympics? What is the excuse going to be in April when all the other teams are getting ready for the playoffs? The Rangers better produce SOMETHING this year or they will have a lot of explaining to do. How do you justify spending all that money on a team that can't buy a win? I know it was just a preseason game, but the Devils looked impressive (especially the kids) last night. We will have quite a backup goalie for Marty. What a save he made on that penalty shot last night. AWESOME!!!

A Ranger fan telling me, a Devils fan not to get my hopes up too high. HAHAHAHAHA!! I guess you are the experts at that though. I don't call it an accident that the Devils made it to the Stanley Cup finals TWO YEARS IN A ROW. It's called talent and we still have it.

I have to admit, you are a genious for knowing that it takes talent to make it to the finals 2 years in a row. I dont think I would have ever known that if it wasnt for your post:rolleyes:

And I repeat: Dont get your hopes up.

The Rangers have been buying talent for years now, so what is the excuse for missing the playoffs? I hate the Rangers, but I would be the first one to admit that the team has had some great talent over the years. What do they do with the talent though? I wouldn't hold my breath this year if I were you. Sure they've bought some talented merchandise, but if they can't produce with that, then the talent is wasted. Lindros for example is a great player on his own, but teams that he's played on have continuously failed. Why? You can't rely on one guy to get you there. I'll say it again for ya: The Devils are a solid, talented TEAM. Maybe there are no big superstars, but we make up for that with the core of players and coaches that we have.

OK, we are not relying on just Lindros here...

Last year our problem was that we let up way to many goals. Our offense was, for the most part, solid. Now we have improved on our Defense, and even offense too. Not only that but Richter looks to be in great shape. Disagree with anything im saying here?

And stop talking about how the Rangers just try to buy championships, blah blah blah. You know damn well that if the devils had the money to do so, they would do the same thing.

the Rangers are all about the money, who are you trying to fool. Do you think a player like Lindros or Messier or Gretzky or any other big name player would have gone to NY if they were not putting up the dollars for them? I don't think so. You tell me why Lindros said he would only play for Toronto or Detroit or New York or any of the other teams he mentioned? Hello, those are the markets that could PAY for him. Do you believe that the YankeeNets corp. doesn't have money to put out for players? The Devils, as I've said, have a strong enough core that they don't need to rely on one or two big names.

I think you got your YEAR wrong (2020 is more like it)

As for MONEY & lindros The LEAFS couldnt pay him anything that he should have been. He wanted to play for the GAME.

And for the DEVILS............... Well Good players on a OLD STYLE team, dont help either.
You have TALENT and you have the chance, But I dont see you getting there this season. Why you ask .....

You havent changed with the times. Your team is stuck in a TIME WARP. A few years ago that they we all teams played , But now you see teams opening up the ice and playing under a diff plan. Your teams plan is OBSOLETE (spell?).

If they make it this year I will (LOL) cause of the time warp.

TO ADD : DONT MARK YOUR CALENDER THIS YEAR for POST SEASON......................

And dont worry Im not either YET....................

Oh, by the way. Yes you did miss them hoisting the cup: The year was 2000 (when was the Rangers last cup?) Hmmm....The Devils win in 1995 and then win again 5 years later. The Rangers win in 1994 after what 50 some odd years without and then have absolutely NOTHING to show since then. Give me a break about Lindros just wanting to play for the "love of the game" Bull...if he didn't want the money, and the publicity, he wouldn't have had such a small list of places he was willing to go. If a player just loved to play, he wouldn't care if he was playing in New York or Nashville. Actually though, in Lindros' case, it's mommy and daddy who probably demanded New York or another high profile city to show off their sons talents. Personally, I don't see him lasting through Christmas. Never has made it through an entire season.

**My hopes are up real high, because my team has been and still is awesome**

LMAO @ A DEVIL FAN hanging with us.

Hey we know your a CLOSET RANGER FAN.

And before you jumped on the DEVIL WAGON you prob. Were a ICELANDERS FAN.

And to go back to when you FIRST got the CUP -- HOW LOING WAS THAT SEASON ?

The DEVILS were at that time a STRONG team, But the one I saw last year was still stuck in that TIMEWARP I keep telling you about.

The DEVILS are done untill the change with the times. The game has changed to include PLAYMAKES and not just BULLIES. But as they will see this season NOBODY in the NHL is running from them anymore.

So once again I will be kind and point out your MISSKEY.

2095 is when you will have that GREAT PARKINGLOT PARADE again.

Let me clear some things up for you:

First of all, I by no means am "hanging with you" as you said.
I was at another board where there was an invitation to come check out this board, so I came.
If you have a problem with me being here let me know, but I thought it was open to fans of ALL teams.

If you enjoy hearing from people that love the Rangers and will encourage your boasting about how great you think your team is, then why do YOU post under the NJ Devils category? I was never and will never be a Ranger fan, so if you're expecting me to convert because of your comments, I'll tell you now...don't hold your breath.

And actually, I've been a Devils fan (raised as one thank you) since they moved into NJ in 1982. I am 26 years old, so if you think I jumped onto the bandwagon at 7, after spending my toddler years as a closet Ranger or Islander fan, you must really be smoking some bad stuff. Yes, I was at both parking lot parades, and mock them if you will, but whether they are celebrations in a parking lot or on a major roadway, they still represent a championship (something that you have not seen since '94 and will probably not see again for another 54 years)

I can't wait until the season starts and you guys start coming up with those same lame excuses. What will it be this year....oh, I can't wait...the suspense is killing me.

Well I dont have any PROBS with you being here. I like the Different views that we will see with all fans being in on the BOARD. But you did POST this in a RANGER ROOM thats why I said hanging out.

I know you think your team is the BEST every year, and sometime I think my team is the BEST. But If we want to look at the way hockey has changed then We are going with the times.

I dont hate you for who you are - I hate your TEAM as you do mine. And thats the way it should be. TRASHTALK is all for the game. So bring it on .................

DEVILS in 2020..

ANd you saw it here first................LOL

You are welcome here Arnie. Talkin sh*t is half the fun, and without you there would be nobody to talk sh*t too.

But I still believe that if the Devils hadn't made the playoffs the last 4 years, you wouldnt be here right now:)

You are wrong about that, because I for one have been putting up with the comments and trash talk from Ranger fans since I was in elementary school and refused to back down from it. I don't care if the Devils are first or last, unlike some I will be there cheering them on. I know there are Devils "fans" that jump on when the time seems right (but I've been there all along so you're talking to the wrong person about that) Like I said before though, that happens with every team, every sport. I'm a teacher and you would not imagine how many kids came in after the Devils won their last cup with hats and t-shirts and any other type of merchandise on. When I ask them about hockey, they look at me like I have three heads. Same thing happened after the Lakers won; no clue, but "everyone else's wearing it"

BTW, where does it say that this is a Ranger room? I entered Atlantic Division--NJ Devils. Just curious.

The whole DIV is ours (LOL - JOKE )

When I said room cause there was only one DEVIL FAN in here. But since your the first you have to LEAD all the other ones in.
We need the RIVALRY to start and it would go better with more of your teams fans here.
