He turned down a 1 year deal looking for a long term deal.

McCarty has been one of the better hitters the Wings have had, since they lost most of them last summer. I wish he'd pick up his scoring some, maybe set him up on a line with Datsyuk or Larionov instead of the grind line.

I think they should give him what he wants, he's a great team player and he has heart for the game.
