Hey, if anyone of y'all out there likes to read horror, I am reviewing a book that just came out called the Red Church by Scott Nicholson. It's really good, and eerie too. The cool thing about it is he bases part of his tale on a haunted church that we used to go to when I was in college at appalachian State Univ. in the N.C. mountains. And that was a very weird place cause i saw something very weird there.

So if you enjoy a good story, i recomend it

So, what was it that you saw when you were there?

I saw a shape in the bell tower peering down at myself and a few friend late one night. they saw it too, and i don't believe it was a trick of the light or anything like that.
The legend has it that a minister of the church, around the 1920s or so raped a member of his congregation and then either was hanged by the congregation or did it himself from the belltower. His grave marker is in the church cemetery but i nowhere near the other tombstones

Flock no! I didn't want to find anything. Plus I was outside the church and it was locked. It has an alarm on it, or it did then, so i didn't want to break into a church, no telling what bad karma that would bring

heheh Yeah, breaking and entering into a church might be bad...

Too bad you didn't have a flashlight... or a paint-ball gun :)

LOL!

I wish I could say I've seen something like that, but I haven't.

The closest thing I can say I've seen to something 'supernatural' or anything like that is when a buddy and I were driving through an area at dusk, and saw this strange light patern 'hovering' in the sky. It was so odd that I actually pulled the car over and turned around. When we turned around, it was totally gone.

About a year later, there was a story about a UFO sighting in this area... it even made it onto CBS. Even a local cop was interviewed.

I don't know if it was the same instance, but it was about the right timeframe, though I don't remember the exact date and all...

Kind of freaky though. We both just looked at each other with our mouths hanging open and didnt say anything! :o

There is definitely some weird stuff in this world. I have alwas taken something that Shakespeare wrote in Hamlet to heart. parpaphrased it goes something like: "There are more things under heaven and on earth, than is in your philosophy."

There is also a really weird phenomena in the mountains called the Brown Mountain Lights. no one knows what they are, the scientific theory is swamp gas, but these balls of light rise into the sky from a valley. It's pretty neat to watch it happen

Ya, I think it is very arrogant on humanity's part to think that we are the only conscious life-forms in the universe...

With BILLIONS and BILLIONS of galaxies out there, with BILLIONS and BILLIONS of stars in them, and them with countless planets and who knows what else... the odds of Earth being the only places where life developed, or God put life, depending on your view... is slim to none, IMHO.

That doesn't even get into possilities of other dimensions or afterlife and the like!

And don't forget ghosts and haints and things that go bump in the night! I know too many people that have seen some weird stuff or their family has.

Sometimes I watch that show Crossing Over ... I find it interesting, though it could easily be set up...

Makes you wonder.

My father died when I was 9 years old (I'm 30 now), and I swear on my life that he has helped me out in a few 'hopeless' situations in my life...

In fact, without even realizing it... my first date with my fiance was on my father's birthday.. I also asked her to marry me on Father's Day weekend. All unplanned, and I didnt even realize it until later.

I had all but given up on find 'the one', but I think I got a little help. ;)

There are some other instances where I just know he has had my back as well...

Wow. I am getting all emotional on you guys. Sorry. :o :D

Don't worry about it Xed. I am sure your pop has your back and is happy to be watching over you.

Thanks! :D

I guess everything comes back to that eternal question...

"What is the meaning of life?"

or

"Why am I here?"

;)

PS: Wow... Chasing Stanley has gone philosophical!! :)

I'm not a big believr in the supernatural, but Crossing Over is a pretty interesting show. John Edwards is a little bit creapy though. Xed, you're going deep on us man. Sit back, relax and have another coffee!!

I just wanted to say "I Love listening or should I say reading what you guys have to say."

Is there anyone out there that does beleive in the after life?
I honestly do wonder what does happen after??

Tammy
p.s. I beleive.

It sure is more comforting to believe something is there... it'd seem like an awful waste if evenone just becomes worm-food after death. :(

There was a great movie that came out in the early 1980s with Robin Williams and Walter Mathau called The Survivors. Williams becomes a survivalist and on his property he had this big sign that read "Is there an afterlife, cross thiss point and find out." I always thought that was funny as hell.

And oh yeah Tammy, i believe there is an afterlife.
