More People?

What do you think we could do to get more people to the board?

I know it's off-season now, so it'll be even slower than usual...

I enjoy the small group we have, but it'd be nice to get some new people here, especially ones that post... I get excited when a thread gets to 5 replies. ;)

I have emailed my referral link to all my friends, but it's hard to get people to join, because they don't see a lot of activity... and, honestly, most of my friends are not big message board people to begin with, so it's kind of a dead end anyway...

Any ideas? :confused:

Maybe we could post links on other message boards we frequent... but I don't think a spam-fest would be appropriate.

Actually I thought of a few ideas myself...

Maybe we all could send a nice email to our local team's color commentators... I can email Mike Lange and Eddie Olczyk, also Fox Sports Pitssburgh's Stan Savran and Guy Junker. Maybe if they come in and start talking, they can bring some hockey guys in , as well as have some great hockey talk!

Also, maybe Jason or Chris could send out a reminder email ... maybe something like "Just wanted to remind you we are still here"

But maybe it'd be best to wait until training camps open for next season... probably a better response at that time... :confused:

So that's where Eddie O ended up! I always wondered what happened to Ed after leaving the Leafs and playing with the Jets for awhile. Good guy!

Yeah... Eddie O is a pretty good commentator too! He and Mike Lange definately have a chemistry. I guess he was talking to the Rangers, because his broadcasting contract was up in Pittsburgh, but I think they will keep him in Pittsburgh... he and Lange just played off each other so well... very enjoyable! :D

I'll try and send out more e-mails during the upcoming new Season. I did do this a few time to try and bring back some people who had signed up originally but haven't been here in a while.

Aside from that - getting the word out on the Net seems best so far.

My girlfriend was gonna sign up. she is just starting to like hockey, but knows little about it. She chickened out of signing up, but hopefully she will muster some courage.

Actually, some of my friends seem the same way. They are interested in hockey, but don't know enough to feel like they can talk about it intelligently.

I keep telling them that this would be a great place to learn a lot about the game, it's teams, and it's players! Everyone here is so great, and I think we'd all enjoy getting new people interested in the NHL! :)

Tell her to join, I don't know that much about Hockey, but I am always learning more. Besides we need more women on this board. She'll have fun, cause I have had a blast with all of you guys this season thanks to KC for inviting me.

Just click user cp, then edit options, then go down to custom user text, on the right you type in what you want, like "pistol packin mama" or something!:D :p

lol, this might not be that great of an idea, but there's this forum I go to but keep getting banned from called PW, it's a wrestling site that gets TONS of traffic since it's a forum for the wrestling site "Prowrestling.com" which every wrestling fans typed in the URL thing once. Since they keep banning me I can't post there, but maybe a couple of you can start posting in the sports forum and plug your site with a link in your sig. Everyone plugs their websites their and no-one would care.
