Just out of curiosity, how was the regular season attendance in Carolina this year?

I know when the Whalers first moved to Carolina, they had very small crowds, and I was wondering if that was still the case...???

Not to bash you Carolina guys, but I was actually kind of happy about that, becuase I hate it when teams move to other cities...

You almost need a chart to keep track of them all! I still want to call them Atlanta Flames.

The arena holds about 18,000 people. and i guess the canes averaged about 16,500 during the regular season but i am not exactly sure. weeknight games certainly get less attendance than weekend games. But hopefully the games will all be sold out next season.

I'm sure the Canes excellent run will help boost attendance next season...

16,500 avg doesn't sound too bad at all though... I wonder where they rank.

Anyone know where season attendance figures might be listed?

The Canes sold over 12,000 season tickets before the start of the season and had the most sellouts this year since moving to NC. One thing to keep in mind about attendance the first two seasons is that the team played in Greensboro 65 miles away while the arena was being built. The Canes will have record attendance this year as season ticket sales are already brisk.
