It's nice to get the first one out of the way. They looked a little flat early in the game, but they made up for it late. I was really impressed the way they shut everything down in the neutral zone. How about McCarty's natural?? All three of his goals were nice.
I also liked the smack Barry Smith was running during the postgame about how he thinks Hasek's the better goaltender.
This is gonna be an excellent series!!!

McCarty's first one Patty should have had and he knew it. He'll be a bastard to score on next game I'm sure.

Still some nice goals by Darren. I wonder if he'll give Claude Lemeuix a call to ask "How Ya doing?" ;)

The best was the interview with McCarty after the game - they asked him how this game ranked in his career...if perhaps it was his best game ever. He replied that the game he scored the game winner against Philly to win the Cup was his first....they then asked, then it has to be second? He said, no 3rd...why, they asked 3rd? He replied again with a huge smile on his face...because March 26, 1997 is second. That was the day he clobbered Lemeiux on the ice :)

Yeah, that was priceless!! Could Gary Thorn have jinxed both teams more yesterday?? Everytime he talked about someone's penalty-kill statistics, they'd get scored on. I'm hoping the same holds true on the b.s. stat about Roy being 9-0 the game after allowing 5 or more goals in the playoffs the last 3 years. Seems to me, 9 games in three years giving up 5 or more isn't too impressive for the "greatest of all time". Anyway, come on Monday!!

Do yourself a favor and watch HNIC. I only switch to ESPN for replays. What it comes to calling a game game and analysis ESPN is a not even close second to HNIC.

I liked Draper's elbow to Foote's chin, then Patrick Roy has to knock the net off to get a whistle so Foote can be scraped off the ice, and no delay of game! Only Patrick gets that much special treatment. Then his awesome stick handling display led to the 3rd McCarty goal. Darren did the Mike Folino jump after he scored the hat trick. The grin on Darren's son's face was priceless!
